I feel a yearning to stretch out beneath those trees and snooze...

May I join Steve, and bring a hammock ? Looks like the garden got a haircut... but where will all the rabbits and fox and cats and wombats and such hide now ?

PS In view of you piece just below this one about millinery arts, I wondered if you may have see the four pieces I did last summer about the Prix de Diane horse races in Chantilly, where hats for the ladies are required... if by any chance you may not have, they can be found here :

One day I shall invite all my blog friends to lounge in the Secret Garden together. The Sagittarian can make the cocktails don't you think.
What a fantastic day you had at the Chantilly Races, you voyeur you.

I had trouble with the link you used so have copied this one in for any hat devotees to check out.

Here I am giving you a work-a-day image of the garden and you all want to be in it!

When Lady Mondegreen is away - as she appears to be for the time being - it is the pleasure that my friends (tangible and virtual) take from the Secret Garden, that keeps me motivated.

Apt to tell here, of an accolade from my mother, who spent the day here under the willow tree last week, during a day my sister and I tagged for Christmas with each other: "It's just like Fairyland,"
Mum said happily.

I never did get much in the way of direct praise from her, In spite of a University education I never became a great scholar or played in a world class orchestra, and when I became a Gardener, her disappointment was palpable. So at the age of fifty one, I have finally had recognition from her of something I'm good at!

At 51 to be finally recognised for something by your mother is pretty good, so bask in the praise and enjoy it. X

Yeah. I rather enjoy that she also appreciates - probably without realising it - the Dreamer in me :-)
